Controversies in writing mechanics—survey results

I list here 7 “rules” for writing that legal-writing teachers may or may not believe in or enforce in their teaching. For each, the graphic shows how many believe the concept to be—

  • a rule
  • a sensible suggestion
  • a mistaken or misguided rule or suggestion
