Two Texas attorneys were included on the annual Fastcase 50 list, which honors innovators in the legal field.
Jason P. Steed, an associate of Bell Nunnally & Martin in Dallas, and Mark I. Unger, of the Unger Law Firm in San Antonio, received the honor alongside attorneys, professors, and technology entrepreneurs from across the country.
Fastcase in its announcement praised Steed—who holds a doctorate in English and a master’s in creative writing—for his craftsmanship in penning legal briefs and highlighted his frequently updated Twitter feed and blog.
Unger, a former chair of the State Bar’s Computer & Technology Section Council and Web Services Committee, was honored for being a leader in integrating technology into legal practice—setting up a practice management and e-billing portal for clients on the cloud before the larger emergence of such software.
“These are people who inspire us by their intelligence, creativity, and leadership,” Fastcase writes on its webpage announcing the list. “We hope they will inspire others as well.”
State Bar of Texas Executive Director Michelle Hunter and Deputy Executive Director Pat Nester were selected for the list in 2015.
