Annual Texas Forum addressing the union of attorneys and paralegals will be simulcast

Originally published by Amy Starnes.

As attorneys and paralegals from across the state plan to meet in Austin on March 30 for the 34th Annual Texas Forum, the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division’s District 3 will offer an opportunity for North Texas paralegals to take part in a simulcast of the event.

This year’s forum theme is “Towards A More Perfect Union: Attorney and Paralegal Team.” It will extend from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Texas Law Center, 1414 Colorado St., Austin, and provide a series of topics throughout the day.

But for those who can’t make it to Austin, the event will be simulcast beginning at 9 a.m. that same day at the Tarrant County Bar Association, 1315 Calhoun St., in Fort Worth.

People interested in attending the simulcast must register and pay the forum’s registration fee through the Texas Bar CLE website. There is no additional cost to attend the webcast, and it is open to anyone who has registered for the seminar. Event materials indicate to bring along a lunch for the luncheon presentation: “Technology Competence and Update for Paralegals and Attorneys.” Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Other sessions include:

ABA and Texas Model Guidelines for the Utilization of Paralegal Services;

The Dupont Model: Economics of Using a Paralegal;

The Legal Team’s Responsibility in Maintaining Attorney-Client Priviledge;

and Best Practices in Communication and Supervision for the Legal Team.

Those planning to attend the North Texas group simulcast should RSVP to district3RSVP@gmail.com by March 25.
