Trademark Modernization Act of 2020 Gives Trademark Owners More Tools to Protect, Enforce Rights

The new bipartisan bill signed into law on December 27, 2020 made a number of sweeping changes to U.S. trademark law. The Trademark Modernization Act amends the Trademark (Lanham) Act by clarifying the evidentiary burden for irreparable harm to obtain injunctive relief in trademark infringement litigation, as well as two other updates to procedures.
