A Tyler jury in Judge Trey Schroeder’s court returned a verdict in favor of defendants in a patent trial on Friday. The jury in EVM Systems, LLC v. Rex Medical, L.P. et al, 6:13cv184 found that defendants Rex Medical LP and Argon Medical Inc. did not infringe a patent covering a medical device for catching particles in the human body. The jury also found that the defendants had not shown by clear and convincing evidence that the asserted patent claims were invalid.
