Generally if you have been drinking, a police officer may decide that either he wants to either give you a breathalyzer or draw blood or give you a field sobriety test. You should never do the breathalyzer, because those things are off a lot of times. They’re not accurate, kind of like lie detectors. There is a lot of evidence that breathalyzers are unreliable, so you should never blow on a breathalyzer.
Now the consequences though are you will get your license suspended for six months or longer — and you can refuse to do the field sobriety but same thing, they’ll probably arrest you right there on the spot. If you think you are intoxicated, why give them evidence against you and ammunition against you?
