Dan Guthrie Named a Top Attorney for White Collar Criminal Defense

The Best Lawyers in America has recognized Dan C. Guthrie, Jr. on the publication’s 2022 list for his work in white collar criminal defense.

With more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Guthrie is a former federal and state prosecutor and can be admitted to practice before any federal district court, which allows him to handle federal cases anywhere in the United States where his clients may need him.

In addition to his Best Lawyers honor, Mr. Guthrie was also recognized by Texas Super Lawyers in 2020 for his white collar criminal defense work, and he and holds an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

“It’s an honor that my peers have recognized my professionalism in this turbulent area of the law,” he said. “I am exceedingly proud of the work we’ve done, and I’m happy to be in the company of so many other highly regarded practitioners.”

Inclusion on the annual Best Lawyers list is based on a three-step process of nominations, balloting and voting. Nominations are open to all lawyers, and ballots are then sent to attorneys on the current Best Lawyers list to vote for their peers based on the parameter: “If you were unable to take a case yourself, how likely would you be to refer it to this nominee?” Attorneys are neither required nor encouraged to compensate Best Lawyers for a spot on the list.

Apart from his work on behalf of clients, Mr. Guthrie also provides insight and analysis to the news media when they request commentary for high-profile cases. He has appeared on 60 Minutes, Bloomberg, NPR, CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox News, and has been quoted by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the Dallas Morning News, among others. He also publishes the monthly The White Collar Defense Report®.
