Texas State Law Library offers home access to Lexis Advance

Originally published by Adam Faderewski.

The Texas State Law Library, in partnership with the LexisNexis State and Local Government team, is providing virtual access to Lexis Advance through May 31 to facilitate social distancing.

Library patrons can create a 30-day temporary ID that allows for self-serve access to Lexis Advance. The IDs allow access for 30 days or until May 31; whichever of the two is shorter.

IDs provide access to the following sources: all state and federal caselaw, statutes, regulations, and rules; law reviews from all states; briefs, pleadings, and motions; and company and financial information.

To access Lexis Advance at home, login to Lexis Advance using your law library username and password and follow the instructions to create a temporary ID. Lexis Advance can also be accessed through the library’s electronic database.

The library is also now offering chat reference assistance from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. During this time, reference librarians are available to help locate legal information, identify relevant resources, and develop search strategies.

Librarians are available by email or phone at 512-463-1722 or 844-829-2843.
