The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas — Marshall Division has issued a standing order designed to address concerns about the transmission of the COVID-19 disease while maintaining the court’s duty to just and speedy disposition of proceedings.
The order, signed by Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap on March 3, requires that attorneys notify all parties if they reasonably suspect that one of the parties may have traveled to a country subject to a U.S. travel advisory, may be infected by the virus that causes COVID-19, or have come in contact with a person who may be infected by the novel coronavirus.
