GSK Executive Files Lawsuit Alleging Illegal Marketing of Smoking Cessation Drug

In continuing coverage, Bloomberg News reported that a former GlaxoSmithKline executive has filed a whistleblower lawsuit claiming “he was fired for pointing out flaws in studies used to tout the benefits of the drugmaker’s Nicoderm [nicotine] line of smoking-cessation products.” Alexandre Selmani claims he was terminated after pointing out flaws in studies supporting the product and alleges that GSK illegally marketed the product as superior to competitor products.
