The State Bar of Texas Women and the Law Section announced Hilda C. Galvan as the Sarah T. Hughes Women Lawyers of Achievement Award recipient and Kathryn Snapka as the Louise B. Raggio Award winner.
Galvan and Snapka will be recognized at the section’s virtual annual meeting on June 4, 2021.
Galvan is partner-in-charge in Jones Day’s Dallas office. She has represented tech companies in IP cases for more than 25 years and is active in several community organizations dedicated to providing opportunities for women and advancing their professional and economic status. The Hughes Award is for lifetime achievement and recognizes honorees who have achieved outstanding recognition in their professional areas, and in doing so, paved the way for other women attorneys’ successes.
Snapka is managing partner in the Snapka Law Firm in Corpus Christi. She has represented underprivileged people seeking justice against powerful economic actors. Snapka has mentored many aspiring female trial lawyers and has spoken extensively about how to be an effective female advocate. The Raggio Award recognizes ongoing contributions to justice, and honorees traditionally have furthered justice in society and addressed needs and issues affecting women in the legal profession and in the community.
