Texans hire Pat O’Hara as offensive assistant; promote Anthony Pleasant

The Texans have hired Pat O’Hara as an offensive assistant and elevated Anthony Pleasant to defensive assistant.


O’Hara, 46, was a longtime quarterback and coach in the Arena Football League. He also has coached in high school and college. Most recently, he was director of player personnel for the Jacksonville Sharks (an Arena League team) and a color analyst for the University of Central Florida football network.


O’Hara also has been the football choreographher for several movies: “The Longest Yard,” “Invincible,” “We are Marshall” and “The Game Plan.”


He appeared in “The Waterboy,” “Any Given Sunday” and “The Game Plan.”


Pleasant, a defensive lineman in the NFL for 14 seasons, was the Texans assistant strength and conditioning coach last season. He coached Kansas City’s defensive line for three years before coming to the Texans.
