As the vigorous pace of wind and solar energy development continues, the ability of renewable projects to obtain Qualifying Facility (“QF”) status under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (“PURPA”) can be critical to a renewable project’s viability and can have important cost implications for the utility receiving the project’s output.
